One of my jobs is to service the generator, top up the batterys etc. Its a pretty good system, the battery backup means the motor doesnt have to run all night, in fact at the moment it kicks in about 7pm and shuts down about 11pm and that is all it runs unless something extraordinary puts a load on it during the day. It fires up automatically when the batterys drain to 70% capacity. even when it is running it is a gentle unobtrusive hum when you are inside
