We had a day off today so we took the Jimmy out to the Painted Desert - Copper Hills area. This is a heritage listed vicinity on the road between Cadney and Oodnadatta. The difference to the surrounding featureless countryside is amazing. Photos cant really capture what it is like, all the rocks have amazing colours and are as smooth as if they have been polished, I guess as a result of it being an ancient seabed. The colours on the hills are constantly changing and the locals description of it as the rainbow desert is probably more fitting.
