Got up bright and early to try and get into Guyana and managed quite easily. The bus came on time and the dug out cannoes that take you across the river have been replaced by a spankey new bridge (only opened 3 months ago)....

Anyway it was like walking into the Caribbean. Everyone was talking English with a strong Caribbean accent. there where also left over bits of the old british colony still around.

They drive on the left
There are loads of ex british army trucks around
The taxies have Hackney Carriges on the back
You can flush paper down the Loo!!!!!!

Got to Lethem and also managed to get a bus onwards to Georgetown!
