Here we are in sunny Palma and in the marina right by the old city and the magnificent Cathedral.
What could be better?

Leaving Cala San Vicente in the pitch black of early morning and out into the swell of the open sea was quite an experience for me.  The blackness is intense and I felt that I was helming blind but logic always steps in and with Steve on lookout we got out of the cala safely.
It was a 10 hour crossing to Majorca with an occasional large wave that frightened me to death but after a while you get used to the forces and accommodate the rocking.  I looked behind me a couple of times and saw what appeared to be a wall of water rolling towards us but Dunikolu rode over the waves brilliantly each time.

The wind even died enough to put the cruising chute up and Steve did this while I was dozing in the cockpit wrapped up in my duvet!  This kept our average speed up but when it came time to drop the chute the halyard (the rope that is used to raise and lower a sail)  wouldn't drop down.
So Steve had to do a hasty tie up job to keep it under control and we carried onto Porto Adriano reaching there at 4.30pm.  Steve managed to get the sail down and stowed away by me winching him up the mast next morning.  A repair still has to be effected as yet.

A night in the Sunseeker HQ marina...boy were there some yachts there! We left next day for Palma having a lovely relaxed sail around the corner into the Bay of Palma and then to the RCN marina by the Cathedral and old city.

Mark arrived bang on time on the 20th leaving behind some ghastly weather in the UK to be met by 18 degrees of sunshine here though it does get cooler in the evenings.

We are exploring the city and getting into the Christmas spirit..ie the whisky, gin, brandies et al!
We have lights up in the cockpit and in the saloon and the cards that Mark brought out with him on display.  The turkey is being collected tomorrow and we are set for the annual binge!.  Steve has a cleaver so that we can get the turkey into the small oven come what may!

So that is all for now from us in Palma.

We send you all our best wishes for a great Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

Lots of love
Jilly and Steve and Mark

Warn Steve to be careful with that cleaver - especially after a few brandies
His chopper might be fatal - or even very creative
(appropriate perhaps on Christmas Day and the Immaculate Conception)

My new year's resolution is to learn to sail. Every time I read your blog I'm pea green. This week I have been dancing everywhere: Pheonix, East Dean, Town Hall, Polgate; then again at the town hall. I'm all danced out! Youngest daughter has visited with new man. Eldest, with family, arriving boxing day. It's meant I've had to flash the duster and hoover. The spiders had quite a shock! Here we have rain and floods. Lucky you in the sunshine! Here's wishing you a very merry christmas and a happy and healthy new year. Don't forget me. Much love. Rosalie
