After leaving Rota marina we had a day in the bay outside and stopped overnight too.  Then another day relaxing on board catching up with sleep and chilling out after so much excitement.

The peace of the bay was again disturbed by a jet skier.  Everyone else was out enjoying a Sunday on the water or the beach in the peace and quiet until the jet skier arrived.  Steve was resting below and I had my first swim by the boat.  It wasn't cold but not warm either...just really cooling to be in the water after the hot sun.  I was on my second dip when Steve decided to come in too....but then he had to don the mask to go and check on the anode before swimming.  For those interested it has gone!

After the refreshing swim we decided to head to Puerto Sherry for another anchorage.  I was beginning to feel sick again after the rocking about and Steve thought the anchorage at PS would be calmer and it was only 5nm away into the Bay of Cadiz.  We could see Cadiz across the water or rather the huge port there.  So we upped anchor and went over to there and stopped by the marina in a small bay for the night.  Our plan was to catch the ferry across to Cadiz the next morning.

PS...Steve has just said that he will let me continue with my entries and not do a Captains entry as I cover most of it!

Steve on

I am not the controlling captain that the PS my suggest, I just think that Jilly is making such a good job of the blog that I have little to add so will just confine myself to be her info checker. By the way the spinniker pole repair was a rebuild of the remaining pieces and we now have a pole 3' shorter that will work for the Genoa only, need a review for the spinniker, may be the remaining piece may make a bow sprit. Sorry for this to the none sailers out there. All the other little jobs are just sent to try us and just part of sailing!

Love reading your blogs - whoever is the writer doesn't matter, its really interesting. Only thing we have in common with you at the moment is the fact that Rosie and I and a few others were down the beach yesterday and we too enjoyed a swim and the water was lovely not cold at all

The swimming by the yacht reminded me of our day out with the skipper who cooked lunch on Menorca Jilly!Shame those pesky jet-skiers have to shatter the silence isn't it? Raining here today. Keep having fun, love, Pauline xx and Roly x
