We left the mooring at 0930 to head over to Chipiona marina the stop before going up river to Seville.

As we left the river we could see the sand dunes starting to appear as the tide receded so their was definitely no shortcuts!  There was not much wind but we did not have to rush as we had the whole day to go the 42nm that it was.  Steve cast out his fishing rod for an hour or so but no fish supper for us that night.

The wind was picking up as he packed up his rod and we had an excellent sail all the way across the Gulf of Cadiz to reach the marina at 8.15pm and berthed at 9.30pm.  We had a look at the almanac again and as Seville is 50miles upstream and you have to do the passage in one hit Steve suggested we look into going by bus and staying in an hotel for 2 nights instead of motoring all the way.  That was a good idea and we asked the reception for information and the buses left every hour for 8.81E so that was decided on for the next day.
