Well Mount Cook is cool.
The drive there was amazing,  great peaks everywhere, snow everywhere, COLD
We stayed at a great backpackers, which was warm as toast.
Our one activity we managed to do (besides boozing) was a glacier walk, the longest glacier in NZ, the Tasman, was very cool and a first for all of us.... BUTyou couldn't get very close and I think the scale was lost a bit. Still amzing scenery, like a quarry, apparently at it's deepest the ice is 600 metres deep, and two hundred at the shallowest. that's a big WOW from me.
We also checked out some Lord of the Rings filming sites, they were OK but I should have seen the film first perhaps, it means nothing to me ha.
We were super glad we had traded the camper in, we woke up to gale force winds and snow this morning. wailing it was. and when we started makign our way to the airport there was even a caravan flipped over on the road it wa way BREEZY.
anyway,
holiday over, almost out of NZ, gonna see my Mum tomorrow - it's amazing.
