Vienna ended really well, we went and saw La Boheme, that's Opera crossed off that unending 'things to do before I die' list. It was really good, they take an awfully long time to express one thing!
And we managed to catch up with Giles afterwards which was really nice, Iäm really looking fwd to the Whistler wedding now. It seems so far away.
Just a quick note: it is SO GOOD being on holiday for so long. Every day is exciting and I get to do cool fun stuff EVERY DAY. This was so worth saving up for. Do it do it do it.
Now, onto Sweden...
It is FREEZING. brrrr chilly cold cold ouch! We know this because we havenät had the pleasure of a hotel room this evening, they donät seem to have check in after 11pm, and as our plane was delayed 2 hours we landed at 11 and then wandered the streets in vain, in the cold, up stairs and down! The lesson - book ahead! Luckily itäs Friday night so thereäs plenty of entertainment, and we have met some characters. But generally feeling like vagrants, and I keep expecting to be asked to move on. Yup, thereäs the police eying us off now.
BUT the snow is ace, itäs everywhere and thick, so the first few hours of wandering were pretty much frolicking about. The sea is even frozen.
Oh and my favourite bit - they don't smoke everywhere, anywhere in fact, I am so over having smoke inflicted apon me on trains, in restaurants, in toilets, and smelling like an ashtray after going out anywhere. Loving the clean air.
So anyway, gonna catch the next train/bus to Gem n Jimmy's....
