The next morning we were provided a complimentary breakfast of tea and Krispy Kreme doughnuts (the original branch was down the street from our place). Then we navigated our way on the MARTA (the public transportation system) to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic site which consisted of his birthplace, the church where he preached, and a National Park Service Visitors Center. The site was a walk through his achievements in his brief life. It was both inspiring and sad at the same time and left Jill and me slightly drained. So we decided to head to the beautiful Grant Park a little further outside the city to explore the wonders of the "Cyclorama" (a four story, three hundred and sixty degree painting and diorama documenting the Atlanta Civil War battle). Still feeling tired, we needed something a little more light hearted so we headed to the Coca Cola museum. The best part of the museum was tasting different flavors from around the world. Ethan especially liked the Lychee and Watermelon flavors from Asia. Finally to end the long day of sight seeing we went to the Gladys Knight's and Ron Winan's Chicken and Waffles for some good ole soul food of fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, black eyed peas, and collard greens!
