What started as a quick bikeride with the family on a cloudy day turned into something of a return to a world that is long long gone. Very much a part of my childhood, the Alouette still flowed in the same direction with the same clear cold water, the same overgrown grass and loose rocky banks, the same fields of blueberries on either side, the same sounds of horses playing and distant gun shots as farmers try to scare crows away from their berries. The same smell of manuer that to this day gives me a wicked craving for ice cream. But it wasn't about nostalgia, there was no idle moments lost in the past, it was about how very much I still love this place and how if you look at it with the right perspective, in the right light and with just the right mood, it's so beautiful you get a pain in your stomach that feels quite like appreciation.
Then sun is setting somewhere behind the clouds and then riding a little further, more through time than space, the clouds break like heavy curtains and something like energy is behind them. Something that says how immediate the future is and how anything could happen anytime. And it's nice to know that however much I want to find new places to see I will always be rooted in this one. I will always return to this one.

i'm glad you remember how beautiful it is here - there IS no place like home! You'll always have a room here.
