One thing is certain my friends, after spending 4 days in Tamarindo, I can honestly say that I will never be a professional surfer or even a decent recreational one. First finding a rash guard that fits this guy is complicated. Seems that to surf you need to be skinny, tan and have long hair. If you know me then you know that those are the only faults I possess so how can I ever be a good surfer?? I thought that I could charm myself into surfing the way I charmed my way through multiple countries, Alas I still suck on a surf board.

Since we are on the fat guy topic we should talk about food. It seems that we, north Americans, have no clue about food and life in general. Everywhere we go; Vietnam, China and now Costa Rica the food is much better than what we eat at home. The pressure to produce food that can be transported and stored for long periods of time has distracted us from the essential part of consuming food. What separates "them" from "us" is a food choice, one that is simple, honest and fresh. From last night's fish tacos to the simple casados served in Sodas on the side of the road, food has been spectacular, I can't say the same thing from the food at home, can you?
