Hopefully, this slide show of my experiences with Civitas Malawi over the last few months will interest you enough to get involved in supporting their efforts to empower their young students to help bring about a new dawn of prosperity and democracy for Malawi. They are supported by the Center for Civic Education, Calabasas, California, USAID, and the U.S. Department of Education; however, their funds barely touch the surface of what is needed to reach all secondary schools in Malawi.

Domasi College of Education, Malawi
Urbana, Illinois, USA recently became a Sister City with the city of Zomba, Malawi. Citizens in Urbana have relations with the College of Domasi through the ties with the Grace Malindi family, who lived in Urbana and attended Urbana's First Presbyterian Church. The church has an established clean water well digging program based in Domasi but extending to Blantyre. I initiated a book donation program to the libraries at Chancellor's College and elsewhere during my visit to Domasi last year. I am interested naturally in knowing about your programs relating to education as well, since I hope to start a student to student pen pal program between countries.--Dennis Roberts, Urbana Alderman. drobers@uillinois.edu
