Well, this is it - the last day of our trip. We have spent the last week relaxing in Waikiki - which is like Oxford Street with a beach! You can buy everything here, from dancing hula dolls to Cartier watches, then cross the road to the beach.

The weather has been very kind to us - when we arrived the immigration official said that this is the rainy season (uh-oh!) and then went on to say those words that we have come to dread "but it's been really nice for the last few days". How many times have we heard that only for the weather to break as soon as we arrive. If I had had my suitcase with me at the time I'd have put on my anorak there and then. However, the weather has been lovely, so we've spent much of the time by the pool or on our balcony, which has lovely ocean views (though sadly the sun sets behind the high rise to the right of our hotel so we have to walk to the beach to see the sunset - oh, the hardship!). Not much to report - the only time we left Waikiki was to take a nature trip around the island. As is often the case with these things, nature wasn't really playing ball that day - the blowhole didn't blow, the birds didn't appear etc... - but it was nice to get out of the urban areas and see some of the stunning coastline and more mountainous regions of the island (and we saw some of the places where Magnum PI was filmed - very exciting).

As I write this I can hear someone playing White Christmas on the ukelele, so I think it's time to sign off this blog and wish you all a very Happy Christmas. Thanks for sharing our travels with us, and thanks for keeping in touch with us - we've loved getting your e-mails. To those of you who have kindly offered to feed us this Christmas, thanks very much and make sure you buy a very big turkey and loads of booze!!!

Love to you all - Jez n Hez
