Watching the Superbowl reminded me of something that happens in Viņa a lot while driving around. At certain traffic lights, someone will run in front of the waiting cars to perform a short show. This could be juggling, doing chinese yo-yo, showing football skills, etc. or any circus-related act. The show lasts for about a minute and is meant to entertain the people waiting in their cars. Then at the end, the performer stops by the cars windows to collect donations. 

The performers are usually younger people who are looking to making a little extra cash. It's not looked upon as a bad thing to do and people usually give at least some coins. From what I heard, those who are good & in a busy intersection can make a decent amount. It's really fascinating to watch and who doesn't like to be entertained? So perhaps it is worth the 100-200 pesos (20-40 cents) to watch something cool while waiting for that light to change.
