Today we took a "colectivo" into the city and then a bus north to Reņaca. The "colectivo" is a taxi that takes the route of a bus. So it stops at certain places to pick people up and has a standard fare. It's a BRILLIANT idea – I almost think it could work in some places in the US.

After we arrived in Reņaca, we visited a serene place in the hillside (only a few minutes from the beach) and it felt like the forest in comparison. We had lunch at a cabin and it was really relaxing. Afterwards, we stopped at the beach again and got some fresh fruit drinks.

The day ended by going to the sand dunes. These were huge, but perfect to watch the sunset over the ocean. Plus, they had these sandboards where mostly kids were going down the dunes. But it looked like lots of fun, so I gave it a try too. I found it hard to turn but pretty fun. It was definitely a memorable time.
