We went to Mount Soledad which had over looks of the city of San Diego and the Gulf on one side and the bay on the other side. Mount Soledad had a military tribute wall that was very nice.
We then went to Mission Beach with a boardwalk and wave pools to surfboard in. We had lunch at the Wave House.
We then went to see the Midway. A decommissioned aircraft carrier which is now a museum. It was very neat. We went in the hanger, the flight deck, the engine room, the mess hall, the brig....we saw a lot. It was a lot of fun and very interesting.
We then took the bridge to Coronado, which is an island. It was beautiful. Gayle and Brad took us to the oldest hotel in San Diego, the Hotel Del Coronado. It is 125 years old and absolutely beautiful. There were several stars that visited this hotel over the years, to include, Lucy and Desi Arnaz, Marilyn Monroe, and also a Summit was hosted there by then Governor Ronald Reagan. The hotel is huge and beautiful. You can see Mexico across the water.
