The song is "Strawberry Fields" by the Beatles in honor of seeing the actual Strawberry Field while biking through Central Park.

The song changes when we get to the Empire State Building (where you can see everything!) to “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra.

After leaving the Empire State building we went to Times Square and saw the Toys R' Us that has a Ferris wheel inside it!

We went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Mid trip the song will change to “King of New York” from the Newsies soundtrack. We learned the history at both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island via headset recordings. If you ever go, get the head sets, especially at Ellis Island, it made the trip so much more educational and easy to understand. The pedestal of the Statue of Liberty is huge- we didn’t get to go up inside, but believe me, we were tuckered out from exploring the museum that lies beneath her. Ellis Island was a comprehensive history of not only Europeans, but also more recent immigrants through other ports.

After Ellis Island mom and dad went back to the hotel and Chris, Lauren, and I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, saw Trinity Church, Ground Zero, and went to a rice pudding place called “Rice to Riches.”
