Aaaaaand I'm back! So yesterday I got homesick and lonely and so moped around for a good portion of the day -  being on holiday by myself is a lot harder than i anticipated it being.  But I ended up venturing into Greenwich in the afternoon, unfortunately too late to make any real use of it and will have to revisit and do all the lovely walks and see the Old Royal Naval Museum and Painted Hall etc.  But had a lovely sit on the lawn in the middle of everything writing in my diary and munching on fruit burst chews.  I think the fact that the whole pack lasted less than 10 minutes was a good indication of my mental state.  I was then supposed to get back to the other side of town in time for a yoga session with Tom, but misjudged the time and ended up catching the Canary Wharf tube at rush hour and had to stand the whole way with the ventilation window behind me flicking my hair in everyones faces.  Whoops.  So missed that but came back to Stace's and chopped veges which made me very happy (odd I know) and I was in a much better mood when she got home from work and so we had dinner and brainstormed for the next for days in London.  We are going to the Polo tomorrow and I am finally going to try Pimms (it has been hard not to try it today as they sell it everywhere and it has been SO HOT) which will be lovely.

Aside from that, I wrote a list of all the things i want to see and my days have filled up quite nicely!

Today I went over to the Tower of London, with the intention of going on the tour, however by the time i got there the crowds were enormous and I wasn't too keen, so instead I bought a 2-day London pass which for 50 gets me into heaps of the attractions I was wanting to get into anyway.  So two days beginning next week I am going to do all the very expensive touristy things for free (well it will feel like it)! Keeping that in mind I just did the free stuff today - explored the Festival of Britain and briefly saw a band play called Fernando's Kitchen.  Not really my type of music, but definitely the kind that is great live and they were very talented! Then walked further alond Southbank and took lots of pics of all the cute things along the way.  Eventually got to Tate Modern and had a look around.  Spent over an hour just on one floor and so will have to go back there again and see the rest when Anna comes over - it was really fantastic and a lot of famous pieces and artists featured.  I loved the abstract/surrealist section - it felt like each painting was of someone's really weird but vivid dream and I have those all the time so it was really intruiging.  Will certainly return.

Then on my way to the Borough market, I walked along a strip of designer stores - not clothes stores, designers of all sorts of things from watches to homeware to jewellery etc etc.  Found the most fantastic jewellery store I have ever ever been to and got chatting to the lady.  Long story short I told her about being on holiday and not knowing many people so she's given me 4 different musicians to get in touch with and a couple of great venues for live music and open mic nights so I will definitely get in touch with these people and have a good old time! She said they were very welcoming so I look forward to it :) After her being so lovely I just had to buy a pair of her earrings.  If anyone has a particular piece of jewellery they have been wanting to get (i.e, necklace or earrings or brooch or bracelet) let me know and I'll go and find something to bring back for you.

So after that, went to the Borough market.  How lovely!! More cheeses than i have ever seen in my life.  It is much like the farmers market at home, just slightly bigger and a much more... rich experience, i suppose.  Not that it was expensive, more that everything was more abundant and variant and colourful.  I'd like to go back one day and try some of the things I'd never seen before.  Like the cheescakes... oooooom nom.

Anyway apart from all that, got lost on the tube, ended up in St Albans way north of London but a lovely man put me on the right train back home.  It wasn't as stupid as it sounds, there was a legitimate reason for my confusion but I can't be bothered explaining so you can all just assume I'm a massive blonde for now.  Finally have made it home anyway and going to dash off to meet Alicia (McCormack) at the tube now to hang out for a drink or two and a good old catch up! Yay :)

Hope my blog isnt' too boring for you all, let me know if it is coz I'll stop, its a lot of typing lol. Miss y'all still!
