At last - the time has finally come for our great escape.
And strangely enough... it was an actual winter day that had flurries of snow.
Who would have thunk?
This entire winter season has been one of the mildest & on the day we depart on our travels - we are graced with those white flurries. It was simply poetic... and finally felt justified to be leaving a wintery place for a summery one.
When we checked the status of our flight in the morning, we were worried to hear that our original flight had been cancelled. Bruce called the necessary people and thankfully we were placed on another flight actually 30 minutes ahead of our previously scheduled one. Apparently there had been some extreme weather conditions that required precautions and thus British Airways were still flying their flights, but not as many of them. Luckily that did not cause us too much havoc.
So off the Queendom we flew...
