Those darn busses...always taking longer than you think they will. Anyway, I didn´t bring any food on the bus...again. So I was starving, tired and generally pretty unhappy when I got off, despite it being a pretty good trip. The lady next to me had a blanket which I got to use the corner of until she rolled over. haha. I´m that creepy person no one wants to sit next to on the bus!!!

Anyway, so I got here to Merida...it´s beautiful. The trip looked a lot like Guatemala at first, but by the time I woke up in the morning we were in the Andes and it was entirely different. Big mountains! Not big like the rockies, but still pretty cool.

My hotel is fantastic. And expensive. I totally messed up the conversion in my head, so now I´m paying 25$ a night for the hotel, but it´s totally worth it. Very nice. Very private, and it has cable tv in my room, so I can watch CNN in spanish, and HOLA PRESIDENTE if I´m still here on Saturday! woo hoo. haha. Now that I think about it, maybe I´ll stay here just for that.

Anyway....still not eating a ton...something weird happens when I travel..I totally lose my appetite. I´ll be hungry, but then can´t figure out what to eat, so often it´ll just be an apple or something. It´s a good thing I brought multivitamins along with me this time!!

Now I´m off to set up some sort of Spanish class...or at least try to! Hope everyone is well, and please keep sending the emails....it makes my down-time a lot more fun!

Costs for today: 25$ hotel, 7$ lunch, 3$ taxi. I´m assuming I´ll get something to eat..probably another 5$ for food tonight.
