This morning I got up early and went to see Pacaya Volcano, an active volcano about an hour outside of Antigua. It was amazing! The hike up was brutal though, especially being still sick, so I hopped on a horse and felt a little better. There was a doctor on the trip who took a look at my rash and thinks that I might have had Dengue. Cool. However, when it came time to climb on the lava, I was still really woozy so I had to take it really slow. Turned out to be a good thing as the lava (cooled!) was really sharp and several people ended up with flesh wounds.

Some children (yanks) were there running around...they were fearless, although their parents didnt seem to be. haha. The lava was really cool....you could walk on top and it melted some peoples shoes...and then you looked down and saw it glowing red. Very interesting.

I came back to Antigua, had a little rest then went out with the Aussies for lunch and to mail a package home. The mailing process took about an hour....seems standard for Guatemala time. haha. But Im glad that its gone and should make it home safely! Now I have more room to shop. hehe.

Despite a small setback on the volcano, Im feeling quite a bit better. Tomorrow Im off to El Salvador. Ill probably take it quite easy in San Salvador for a few days as this is one of the highlights of my trip. Im still missing home quite a bit, but its manageable, especially since Ill be seeing everyone in just about two months! Yay!

Costs for the day: 7$ hotel, 14$ for food and 20$ for the trip to the volcano.
