Well, this week we moved into an apartment in Irving.  It's nice to have a bit more room than a hotel and to know we will be here for at least 6-8 months.  It's convenient timing too knowing that the superbowl is this week!!!  GO PACK!!!

We had some problems with the heat when we moved in, but that's all fixed now and the place is pretty nice.  The club house has a work out room, laundry, and sauna.  The pool is gorgeous as well.  The apartment has two rooms...perfect to make one an office.  We rented it furnished, so there is not too much we need.  Wrigley's loving his room to run around.  Theres also a little canal that runs along the back with running trails, picinic tables, and basketball and volleyball courts.  It's a much better deal than what we could find in Austin.  There's also a lot of shopping and restaurants around.

The weather this week was quite crazy however.  When you move to TX you think you escape the WI weather, but not quite.  On Monday night/Tuesday morning they had a huge ice storm here.  It rained and then got cold enough to freeze.  Just about everything in the city was shut down, for about 2 days.  Then, Thursday night it decided it would snow about 2-3 inches, which doesn't seem like a lot but when they are not prepared and have nothing to clear things off is quite a lot.  So, everything was pretty much closed down again Friday.  The nice thing about it all is that on Saturday and Sunday (today) it was about 55 degrees, so everything has melted.

The city is all geared up for the Superbowl.  When you drive downtown Dallas, Aaron Rodgers and other packers faces are all over buildings.  Wrigley and I walked to Starbucks this morning, it's only about .5 miles away.  There were two tip jars, one that said Steelers, and one that said Packers.  Of course the Packer one had more money in.  It seems like there are more people around here in Packer gear than Steelers gear.  Along with that there are colored balloons and signs every where.  Not to mention all the blimps in the sky.  I got my hair colored yesterday though, and everyone was talking about how many events had been canceled and how much money businesses were loosing with the weather.  They also talked about a story where ice fell off the top of the stadium and fell on 6 people.  One of them was in critical condition.

I took a drive down by the stadium today to get a little bit of the action.  It was crazy!!  What a party!  Here's some pictures from the area and a link to a video on YouTube to my drive down the street.  Keep watching until you get to the middle where there is a guy dancing on top of his car cheering for the Packers!
