What I did
There was an event at the South St Seaport: Parked! a food truck fest. We went and there were a ton of people but I wasn't impressed. There was Van Leuwen ice cream which I've read good things and a waffle truck that sounded good. Otherwise veggie halal food, burgers, only 1 pizza truck and no taco trucks. I'm really disappointed in the lack of authentic Mexican taco trucks. (haven't seen one.)
Huge expanse of trees and some grass, the part that was fenced off and re-seeded. Also, rock croppings were a surprise. There were bridges and walkways underbridges.
I split of with my brother and fiancee to find a coffee shop but instead I got to the subway and realized I didn't have my 7-day metrocard. I retraced all my steps, dejected admonishing myself for being so careless. I went straight home after I did not find it.
Turned out I didn't lose it. Nick had it all along. Hooray. It was crappy but at least in the end, we didn't have to buy a new one.
Man all Brooklyners have that accent. I can't really imitate but every time I speak they know I'm an outsider.
We got pizza from Sliceria in the neighborhood. Italian and very Brooklyn. Chats us up.
We then watch futurama with some beer.
The guys walked the entirety of Central Park. It was not as dense as the Golden Gate Park in San Fran.
