Yay what a blast!! Yesterday got to KTM airport at 5am and it wasnt even open! 6.15 flt to Lukla..worlds most dangerous airport(google Lukla apt)AWESOME flt which I videod so you can see the landing in between the mountains on the uphill airstrip with mountain at the end of therunway. Chelsea still managed to throw up..even on this smooth flt but had recovered enough to see the landing. 16 seater plane...not so squeezy!

Didnt take long to get approached by people wanting to guide and porter for us, so with a quick bit of negotiating and organising we were soon on our way. Was SO nice to get back here and be amongst the beauty and nature that trekking in Nepal offers. We have a guide(Teju),and 2 porters(Sange sherpa and Sombu)and it took 3 hours to trek to Phakding.Kids coped with that ok and we went from 2800-2600m following the raging Dudh Kosi river.
It rained all afternoon so thank god we got there before it did..what do you expect with it being the end of the monsoon season. A HUGE thank you to Gondwana/Rainbird who have kindly kitted us out with wet weathergear.!Im sure it will all get well used..although Id rather say we didnt have to use it!

Today was a big day of hiking and i must say Jes n Chelsea did extremely well..better than some adults in fact. 51/2 hours of trekking,3 of it straight up with rocky steps alot of the way and a 6 1/2 hour day out. Dont forget if they were decent sized steps for adults, they would have been boulders for shrimpy Chels! I think Jesse's 3x squad swimming, 3x hockey tng and playing have stood him in good stead as he romped it in today and was ahead the whole way! He said he felt good.

A rest day here tomorrow but with another walk for a few hours then its onto Tengboche Monastery.
We are up at 3400m now and can all start to feel the effects of the altitiude..but not badly yet!
Supposedly there is a Yeti head in a temple enroute so we will check it out tomorrow.Lots of cows also enroute, plus heaps of poo along the path so it keeps us on our toes when walking.
Fantastic views and we can already see snow capped peaks in the distance.

Ciao for now....Neal,Sylvie, Jesse and Chelsea.
