. I was outside by the pool all day Saturday and was really really close to going parasailing with Becky but I chickened out. I saw that you never had to touch the water so I was so excited to go until someone was trying to tell me how safe it was by saying "and even if the cord breaks, you just land in the water and the boat comes to get you" and after that all I could imagine was how that was totally going to happen to me and then I'd have my arms and legs savagely ripped off by evil sharks, so I decided not to go. But I did stand knee deep in the ocean for a minute or two. I also went shopping a little bit on Saturday too. I bought a cute purse at this market for 35 pesos (~$3.50) after I bargained the price down from 120 pesos! Saturday night pretty much the whole UDLA group went to this club called Paladium. They charged a $27 cover but had an open bar the whole night. And so we were the first ones there at 10pm. It was really cool, the entire front of the club was a huge window that looked out onto the bar and you could see all of the city lights. They also had some people come out and dance with these flaming batons. So at first, I was so excited about everything, especially the music because I knew the songs. And then the house music started. It was AWFUL! And then more and more circus performers came out and they started saying that robots had taken over the earth and that you needed to dance with the devil and some other crazy nonsense. I kept requesting different songs and waiting for the terrible music to end but it never did. Finally, I could take no more and decided to leave. I didn't realize until I got in the cab that it was 5 am and that that rotten place had stolen like 7 hours of my life! Sunday our bus left at 12:30 and I still felt like a zombie with a headache and everyone else pretty much looked like they felt the same. The next 7 hours on the bus were absolutely wonderful! But all in all, I had fun and took today off from classes so I could make a full recovery.
I got back from Acapulco last night. I had a lot of fun! We left Friday morning at 6:45 and got to our hotel around 2. It was pretty frustrating when we first got there because UDLA had switched our hotels at the last minute and so we were staying in one that wasn't as nice and didn't have its own beach which I was most looking forward to. To make matters just a tad more irritating to me, we got to the not as nice hotel after 7 hours on a bus to find out that most of the rooms were not actually ready yet. So a lot of us had to walk around for an hour or so until all the rooms were ready. But once we all got our rooms and settled in and stuff I felt a lot better. The hotel did have a pool that overlooked the water with a cute little tiki bar next to it, so I didn't stay too bummed for long. All of the bars in Acapulco are ridiculously expensive so Friday night I just hung out by the pool bar with some friends. Oh, and I did get to go see some people dive off of a cliff into the water, which was pretty cool
