The day did not start that well. My stomach was a bit upset and I had diarrhea. Not a great start of a day of travel. I went out to get some medicine at the pharmacy around the corner. Nevertheless, we loaded up the suitcases and headed out to Spain. Our half way stop would be San Sebastian. A nice town at Spanish coast.

We drove a few hours along scenic windy roads through the midi-Pyrenees until we reached the highway that would bring us down to the Atlantic coast. From here we drive around the Pyrenees into Spain. We could cut through the mountains, but this would make an even longer drive, and I was not feeling that great we took the long way around with shorter driving time.

In San Sebastien we stopped for a bite to have some lunch. I found this tapas restaurant in town that had raving reviews, so we tried to find that one. We were just in time to order some as they were just about to close for the afternoon. Linda tried the beef cheek, duck and foie gras. I didn't have anything as my stomach still did not agree too much. All the tapas were indeed very nice according to Linda and in particular the foie gras which is of Michelin star quality. After our little lunch we strolled through the little streets of San Sebastian a bit. It is a beautiful city with a fun and vibrant atmosphere, we should come back here some day.

As we continue our way to Haro and Tirgo as we planned to see the Haro as it was recommended in one of the travel guide books. We drove through the town, but did not find it as charming as the book would let us to believe. So we headed onwards to Tirgo where we checked in to our very nice parrador hotel. It was a bit of a challenge to find as the street did not exist on the GPS. But luckily the town is very small. We were greeted by the hotel friendly owner and his wife, and got an awesome room on the top floor. I only wish I was feeling a bit better to enjoy it more. Luckily we had some cup noodles which we made in the room for dinner. After that I took some medicine and slept. I woke up in the middle of the night, it was Linda's birthday already as it was past twelve. I sang her 'Happy Birthday' and we both went back to sleep. I hope I feel better tomorrow....
