In Scheveningen we checked in to the small 'Boulevard' hotel. A family run hotel with about 30 rooms. The place is on top of a sand dune and right at the Ocean. From our room we saw the beach and dark clouds above it. We took a tram down to 'Madurodam'. This is a must do for every tourist in Holland. Linda has been there when she was 12. Madurodam is a very small park, with miniature buildings (scale 1:25). Every landmark in Holland is represented in this small mini town. We walked around a bit and Quentin enjoyed the trains and the miniature version of the airport. After a couple of hours we headed back to the Hotel. We enjoyed our dinner at one of the beach restaurants on the boulevard. Quentin played on the beach with a couple of other kids while we were waiting for our food. Some spare ribs, flounder for Linda and frikandel for Q. It was another lovely but very tiring day.
The best thing about the NH hotel is endless Sunday. Checkout is not till 17:00 and the breakfast buffet is open till noon. We all slept in, even Quentin did not wake up before 09:00. We took it real slow, and just made the breakfast. After checking out we headed to Scheveningen, a Dutch coastal place next to 'The Hague'. It was a typical Dutch summer day, cloudy, rainy and a bit chilly. But we did not let that affect our plans.
