We had to watch the Holland-Spain match at the hotel bar, as the Hotel kept us waiting for a room. No party at the consul, no big group of screaming Dutchies, We did meet a Dutch JetBlue pilot (Erik) who had to fly out around 17:00. We enjoyed the game at the bar, and gained a couple of years because of the stress. Another match that is decided by the referee, such a shame. But anyways, congratulations Spain! And damn you Octopus!
Once we got our room, we changed out of our orange shirts and headed out to find food. San Juan reminds me of Curacao. A Caribbean vibe, a bit dirty but nice. We found a place with reasonable looking Japanese food. The Hotel is in a tourist trap area, where you find Pizzahut, Burger King or Sushi places that serve Sushi Pizza. The place we found had some Chinese food on the menu, next to the 'Big Kahuna, Who's you Daddy and Erupt Volcano Rolls'. As it seemed the owner spoke some Cantonese, so we had some trust in the quality of their Chinese food. It was simple and nice, just rice with some bell pepper beef in a soy sauce. Something I would make at home, exactly what we needed.
Back in the Hotel, we went to bed early as we were dead tired from the early day and Holland stress.
We left New York in the middle of the night. As we had to catch a 07:00 AM flight to Puerto Rico. Things went smooth, we got our seats, and the AA staff at the check in counter was very friendly when they saw Linda carrying her wedding dress around, wishing us many babies :). It was a smooth 4 hour flight to Puerto Rico. We arrived at the Intercontinental, close to the airport. I am not going to say anything about this place as I want this blog to be positive and fun. But if you want you can search for our review on Tripadvisor. Enough about that.
