Another nice and warm day in the City. So nice to have the sun out and temperatures up. Last time we were here it was raining hard and it was quite chilly. Today more shopping chores. Linda made an appointment at Vera Wang to try on some evening dresses. So off we went, into the Taxi and down to Madison and seventy-nine. At Vera Wang, Linda tried on a dozen of dresses and ended up buying two very nice ones for the Banquet in Macau in November.

All that shopping makes one hungry, luckily Serafina is down the street. This is a very nice Italian tratoria. They serve amazing thin crust Pizza. Not the crap you get at Domino's, but real nice fresh ingredients and really simple. A absolutely love the fresh basil on the pizzas. We ordered a pizza to share which is more than enough for us both. The hostess (Sofia) has this typical look, very grumpy and dressed all in black, this adds an extra dimension to the atmosphere of the place.

After lunch we picked up the amended clothes from the tailor and headed back to the Hotel. I had a few hours left before the exam so I read a bit whilst watching Spain and Germany battle it out. Around 16:00 I headed out to the exam center as Linda headed out to do her nails. What a difference don't you think. The exam was horrible, it had double questions, incomplete questions, and there was a design task at the end without any form of explanation. When I clicked next to that question hoping to get more details on the following page, the exam was promptly finished. Surprisingly I passed it, so no need to think about that anymore.

Done with the 'work' I headed back to the hotel. We decided to celebrate with a meal at the cathedral of Meat, Smith & Wollensky. We actually made that up whilst walking on 5th avenue searching for a place to eat, so we headed to the Apple store to Google the address and call them for a reservation. All iPhones there have Internet and working phone connections, so that works great as a quick Internet cafe stop. In the Apple store we saw a huge queue of Asian, probably Chinese people, (I mean HUGE), all in line to buy something. It seemed like the store was a tour stop for tour buses. Amazing how this Apple marketing machine brainwashes (almost) everybody.

After a stroll down the New York street we reached 'The Catherdal of Meat'. We tried Peter Luger, the competition once about a year ago, and hoped that this one was just as good. The setting is a bit more formal than Peter Luger, but they did let us have a table in our shorts and flip flops. We ordered Colorado steak and veggies, which was recommended by the waiter as their best offering. It was quite delicious, but way too much. We ended up bringing almost half a steak back to the Hotel.

Full and happy we strolled back to the Hotel via the Rockefeller Center. Enjoying the summer evening in New York City.
