The sound of drills and hammers woke us up around 08:30 in the morning. Our new room was not only next to a street full of drunk tourists, but also next to a construction site! Not very pleased we headed to the reception in the main building (a block away) and got the manager to change us to the main hotel/condo complex (Porto Playa). We had to pay a little extra, but the room was a lot better, nice and quiet.

As we have a full kitchen in the apartment we decided to go out to get some groceries. On the way we had a brunch in town, we both ordered a tikinxic style local oven baked fish dish which was very nice. Later we found a Wall-Mart not too far from the Hotel, here we got supplies for our stay in Mexico.

Done with the groceries, we took a Taxi back to the Hotel as we did not want to drag the bags back in 37 degrees heat. The taxi driver did not speak a word of English, he did not know the address we gave him and tried to take us around in circles. Finally at the hotel we had the receptionist talk to the guy and ended up paying 50 pesos for our ride, still not too much.

In the afternoon we booked an excursion for the next day and enjoyed the hotel pool. As we are getting a bit tired of restaurant food, Linda made some very nice home made soy sauce chicken for dinner. The evening was quiet and relaxing with wine (from Napa), some nice chorizo and Parma ham.
