Our ship docked at the Canada Place pier in the early morning. The sky was gloomy and there was the smell of rain in the air. When we opened our curtains we saw the beautiful city of Vancouver waiting for us. Disembarkation of the Ship was smooth and within 20 minutes we were standing outside with all of our luggage. We took a taxi to our hotel for the coming days, the Westin Bayshore. Arriving at the Hotel we were pleasantly surprised, the hotel had a nice corner room with windows overlooking both the city as well as Stanley park for us, and it was already available at 08:45 in the morning! Great service and accommodation, we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver. We parked our luggage and headed out to get some 'Dim Sum' at Kirin restaurant, as we were craving for some Chinese cuisine. We arrived a bit before lunch hour, and we were lucky to do so as a few minutes after we were seated that place was packed. We ordered a few Dim Sum, not realizing that the portions are huge!. So before we knew it our small table was filled with way to much food (if there is such a thing).

After our very nice (and cheap) lunch we decided to rent a couple of paddle bikes to ride around the park. As the weather cleared up the ride was very enjoyable, we stopped at several spots to take some pictures or just sat and admired the view. After we rounded the park we decided to go a bit further as Linda was getting a bit more comfortable on a bicycle so we biked along the seawall and took the ferry over to Granville island. At the market we enjoyed a nice lychee shake. After our snack we drove on all around the bay back to the bike shop, around 25 KM. On our way back to the hotel we picked up some groceries for breakfast for the coming days.

This evening we had dinner with Anita and Oscar, friends of Linda here in Vancouver. We went to a small Japanese restaurant called 'Dan'. The food was very nice, but opposite proportions from Kirin. We had a good meal with good friends, and thereafter we retired to our Hotel to work on our 7 day Internet backlog.
