March 15th - Fly Home
As with many cruise lines, excursions to see each country are a must unless you want to just sit on the beach all day. 8 hours is hardly enough time to see a country, so it must be crammed in to have any sort of success. I hardly recommend doing it on your own (unless the beach is your goal) so planning excursions with external companies are great to do.
In my experience, cruise provided excursions are over priced and often canceled for the stupidest of reasons. Even after this cruise, this has remained to be true. Our original schedule for excursions are below, * ones were canceled and new ones chosen.
Saint Thomas - Carnival Excursion to Trunk Bay in Saint John*, chosen replacement Carnival Excursion Catamaran to Buck Island with Snorkeling
Dominica - Hiking with Levi's Bumpiing Tours to Middleham Falls, Trafalgar Falls, and Titou Gorge
Barbados - Carnival Excursion to Snorkel with Sea Turtles and a Ship Wreck*, chosen replacement Carnival Excursion Catamaran to Snorkel with Sea Turtles
St Lucia - COSOL Island Tours, traveling down the island through Castries, Soufriere, fishing villages, and Jalousie Beach between the Pitons.
St Kitts - Carnival Excursion Catamaran Fan-Ta-Sea
St Maarten - No excursions booked, zip lining at Loterie Farms on our own.
As you can see, 3 excursions with Carnival booked, were 2 canceled. The following travelogue details the week long adventure we had in the Caribbean!
