Today we went first to the Grand Palace. Now a warning to anyone thinking of doing this - don't ever listen to anyone who tells you It's not open no matter how official they look. They're all trying to con you to go somewhere else. We had two guys in official looking uniforms telling us that It's closed until 3pm, but we carried on to find it open. Amazing place and the highlight is the temple housing the Emerald Buddha. You expect this to be a massive Buddha, but it's actually tiny. Then the Reclining. Buddha which is massive!

Then we chartered our private longtail boat for a tour of the canals, ending at the Khao San Road - mecca for backpackers. Here, jess got Hollister tshirts and converse boots and all sorts. We got so much that we need to check out a place that we can leave it all until we come back to Bangkok. We found a place that offers left luggage for 20p q day!

I can't upload pictures from my camera here as I'm doing this from my phone, so I'll just upload a few phone shots - mainly of out canals tour.
