We got the bus from Townsville to Airlie Beach in the early afternoon on Wednesday. We are staying in Nomads Airlie Beach, where there is camping facilities so we can use the tent again! The tent is good, not had any problems so far & it never gets cold.

On our first night we went out to some of the pubs in Airlie Beach and met some really nice people. We started in Magnums, which is a big backpackers hostel with an attached bar, then we moved on to Beaches (similar to Magnums). We met some people in Beaches so we all went to Paddy Shenanigans, a big Irish pub with strange music, where we met another couple of guys and then everyone finished the night in Mama Africas, the main club in Airlie Beach. It was a good night, very quiet to begin with but it got a lot better and we eventually rolled into our tent at 4.30am.

There's not a lot to do in Airlie Beach so we spent some time at the Lagoon and also did a bit of shopping! I miss having a big selection of clothes like I do at home. We have also booked our Whitsundays sailing trip - it's a 3 day/2 night tour with snorkelling, diving and, of course, visiting Hill Inlet and the super famous Whitehaven Beach. Whitehaven Beach is apparently one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia so I'm pretty excited about going there! We will be sleeping on the boat for both nights and will be back in Airlie in a few days :)
