Where I stayed
We did however met Andrea - from Victoria on our first night while eating in a veggi resaurant named Momo's - very good btw. Andrea recommended renting bikes and doing a little tour of our own. We walked around the castle after dinner and headed back to our hostel as it was late and Pelly had a stomach ache.
Day two we headed to the main square to find the bikes as well as the gelatto place that Julia mentioned. We found the resaurant Carpe Diem and headed across the square to find the gelatto - we think that we didn't get the right place so we tried again the next day. Even if we didn't get the right place it was fun trying and thinking of Julia and family eating gelatto
We found the bike place and spent an hour biking along the river watching the local youth enjoying the summer like weather together - very close together!
One our last day we visited a great little English bookstore recommended by Andrea. It was called Masolit. There was a little caffe whith bagels and cream cheese and a ladder to reach the books that were high up. Siggy and Pelly both bought a book and Chris read most of one that he didn't buy!
We didn't visit Auschwitz or the salt mines but sometimes the serendipidous takes over... we had a great time.
