After two days in Kyoto we set off back to Tokyo. Once getting our stuff together in the hostel we headed for Harajuku to see if we could see the crazy dressing of Harajuku girls and Rockabilly boys. This is a good point to note to all who intend on visiting Japan... but the JR Railcard! You will save a lot of money if your travelling about Japan as there are a lot of JR rail lines - its just the subway you will pay extra for. We saw a few harajuku girls on guys on the train there but not many in Harajuku and we decided mainly because there was a big dance festival contest thing going on down the main street. Was quite a spectacle with groups of dancers wearing a variety of colours in traditional clothing.

Shinjuku is also known as a shopping district with the likes of Dior, Chanel and Bvlgari dorning the streets however it didn't take too long for Steph and I to hunt down Daiso - 100yen store, woo even Japan has a pound shop equivalent! We purchased some glittery nail varnish as weve been feeling rather underdressed in Japan- think I may take up wearing nicer clothing when I return home..why wait for a special occasion!!
There were some rather unusual shops including Condomania, which I'm sure you can guess what it sold!
