Well, the soccer match gave a good result but as an older Norwegian said to Des in very broken English "Don't get too excited, Brazil next."
I had to drive out of Alesund as a soccer match is quite long and you can't just sit on one beer. The drink driving limit in Norway is .02. I bravely set off to find our campsite for the night and was lucky to find a spot by a lake and with 2 flat areas for our vehicles on the shore. Unfortunately as I tried to negotiate a better approach for the car, I backed it straight into a swampy patch and the whole right side sat down on its axles. While Des was locking the front right hub he sank to his knee in the bog and the car was slowly being sucked further into the peat. By this time the car door was also in the bog and it was a little squeezy for Des to get into the driver's seat. Once the car was engaged into low range four wheel drive the Nissan effortlessly crawled out of the situation using the two wheels which still had traction. Luckily we had diff locks fitted before this trip.
The camp site turned out to be a good one and with the temperature around the 30's we all went for a swim in the lake, with the tadpoles.
It must have been the local swimming hole as quite a few young people came to swim, the younger ones all received a koala and pencil.
