Our first day of travel went so smoothly. The route we took was Hwy. 126 to I-5 to I-210 to I-15 to I-10 (which heads straight into TX). I drove the first portion of the trip through LA traffic until about Indio and then Mike the pro took over. All the driving the first day went by in a blur. We occupied our time by playing 20 questions, talking and listening to all the mp3 cd's I made. We saw the sunset in Phoenix, AZ and then ended up heading straight through to Lordsburg, NM. We pull up into this tiny town and all three decent places to stay are booked. The only place that wasn't is a tiny motel with crickets all over the place. The guy had towels under all the doors so the wrath of the lord (in cricket form) wouldn't get into the rooms...but they did anyways. Mike killed 2 in the bathroom and they came back to life. Swear to the lords...burg...
