I feel really bad about this but we skipped Lima. Bussed straight up the coast to Mancora, a little beach town near the Ecuadorian border. We spent a few days here just hanging around on the beach, eating seafood and browsing the shops. We met our friends from the jungle again and a big group of us made a bonfire one night.

We met this really crazy lady from California who was travelling for EIGHT years with her TWELVE year old son. I massively don't approve of this and nodded and smiled a lot for the remainder of the conversation. What will the poor boy do when he meets a girl he likes (if he gets to meet girls his own age at all). I felt really bad because the night of the bonfire we stumbled in after a fair few glasses of pisco (local spirit) and I managed to fall out of bed mashing up my knee. I would like to highlight I wasn't so drunk that I just rolled out of bed, I had a bit of trouble with the mosquito net. I imagine (although I don't recall) that I probably shouted some profanity at this. The walls are paper thin in the rooms (barely being walls) and when I spoke to her the next day I explained I had fallen out of bed and she said flatly with no expression 'I know, we heard.' Then again I guess you shouldn't bring your 12 year old to places that silly tipsy English girls are likely to make a racket at.....

Will would also like me to mention that he had the best tuna ever whilst we were here. He loves taking advantage of the fresh fish whenever he can.
