Another FABULOUS day in Ireland.  A major factor of that was the weather :) but also going back to beautiful Kinsale with the kids.  We had classes this morning and caught the bus on campus and headed 25 km south of Cork to Kinsale.  Kinsale has quite a small population (approx. 2200) and was voted Ireland's first best fair trade town a few years ago.  The first weekend here we took a drive up there with Garry, but this time we all went to enjoy the small town.

We began at Charles Fort, which is a fort that was build to protect the Irish harbour from the Spanish and the French landing there.  We walked down into town where the bus picked us up and drove us to Garretstown beach where unbelievably the students went swimming--willingly.  Crazy.  But of all the days, today was the perfect day to go.  The weather was gorgeous; a sunny 19 degrees.  I finally took my rain jacket off after a week of being in Ireland!!  We only stayed on the beach for about an hour and headed back into town to get some fish & chips at the world famous Dino's.  I obviously don't eat things that swim, but still enjoyed the fabulous chips with some chicken instead.

I was a little bit tired when we got back home, but managed to get some work done for the rest of the week.  Another day of teaching tomorrow.

I still don't understand how you, a Dutch girl, don't eat fish.
