On our way to Prague, we stopped in Brussels, Belgium. We did try some Belgium chocolate and there are no words to express my feelings about that. ;)
We arrived via train in Praha (Prague), Czech Republic early this morning. I love sleeping on a train! For those of you that have had the interesting experience to sleep near me, you know how much I love motion when I sleep. :) The train just lulls me to sleep. Our car had 6 beds, two rows stacked 3 high. The kids each had a top bunk and we each had a bottom bunk, so that left two different men in the middle bunks. It was a teeny tiny space so you get to know your bed mates pretty well. We actually had a great time. We opened the window and the fresh, cool air blew in and the sound of the train.........it was heavenly
We picked up a rental car in Prague and drove to the old town. It looks like a movie set! We got a little bit of the history of Prague and even saw the only remaining theater where Mozart actually played. EmilyFaith and I also really enjoyed the window shopping. Prague is known for their crystal and it is beautiful to look at!
After wondering around the city we jumped in the car and headed toward Poland. We did drive some on the autobahn and our cruising speed was about 110 mph and Luke was discouraged that there appears to be a governor of some kind that doesn't allow the engine to go much above 120. That actually brought a smile to my face. :) As much as I love to drive fast, I am not too fond of being a passenger on a busy road (with my kids in the car, no less) at constant high speeds. More autobahn to come tomorrow.
The countryside is so amazing! We found this great city and stopped here for the night. The town square is filled with cafes so we dined al fresco on pizza, of all things. We did try some German sausages and had a great evening together. We took a walk all around the town square after dinner and had many laughs. The kids get a real kick out of the German language and like to try to pronounce all the words in weird voices. Teenagers....! lol
Tomorrow we will go into Poland and see some internment camps. It will be a sober day, but also a meaningful one.
I pray you all are well. I love you and miss you guys. Keep the news coming!
