Where I stayed
An unexpected but very welcome benefit of going to Charleston tonight was getting away from the endless rain in Savannah! It had been about a year and a half since the last time we saw Jennifer Daniels in concert and we were looking forward to hearing songs from her new CD. We managed to get to Charleston about 30 minutes before the 7:30 start of the concert at Muddy Waters Coffee House in West Ashley. We snagged a table in front and had time to order paninis for dinner. I had a mushroom with roasted red peppers and Darin had a caprese one. Very good!
The concert was good too. Always enjoy seeing Jennifer perform. The new CD is different. I like the first few songs but not so crazy about the last half. The second act was called The Hungry Monks, a foursome from Charleston. They were pretty hippy like but some of their stuff wasn't too bad.
Headed downtown afterwards to our hotel. We got a room on Priceline at Mills House Hotel for only $90. Not bad for Memorial Day weekend right downtown. We even got upgraded to the "Exective Floor" with a king bed, free breakfast delivered to the room (which we didn't realize until the second night!), turn down service and chocolate mints on the pillow. What luck...except for the constant weird humming that seemed to come from the roof and never stopped...
