What I did
Masjid Sultan; Little India, Bugis

Woke up this morning feeling like I'd been clubbed by a team if hickey players - Viv went for a walk while I went back to sleep until 9, then we headed down to the restaurant for our brekky. Wow! Fried rice, crispy chicken and Chinese veg, along with the usual suspects. We finished off our meal with watermelon and pineapple.
As we both felt a little fragile we decided to spend the day walking and exploring close to home, so wandered around Bugis for a bit before aiming for Little India.
In Bugis we walked through the bottoms of some of the tall residential buildings that abound in Singapore, like everywhere in the world there were men sitting around drinking coffee and gossiping. We were not long in Little India when Viv started to feel like she couldn't put another foot in front of the other, so we found a cold drink which revived her somewhat and walked in the general direction of home.
A very civilised nap followed our return to the hotel, then a swim and out again for our tea.
On her Bugis walk this morning Viv had found a little cafe called Tolido, so we decided to eat there and had a delicious pasta and an iced coffee - Viv had a caramel iced blend - a sort of blended concoction of ice, flavour and cream.

Feeling revitalised we thought we'd walk in another direction and so set off down Beach Rd and Nicholl Hwy, turning down an alley into the beautifully lit Malay Heritage Centre, whose grounds were adjacent to Muscat St and yet another view of the Masjid Sultan. What an amazing building! I am obsessed......I have many different visual perspectives of the mosque recorded now.; it's just gorgeous.
Walking down Muscat St we exit onto Arab St, and a dazzling array of carpets and lamps and people trying to sell them.
Home for another swim - we decided that we will swim morning and night - an excellent way to loosen tired muscles AND cool down....I don't believe I've mentioned how unbelievably hot 32 degrees is here?! HOT, dam hot.
