Wow Elnido is absolutely amazing,  there are little islands and big limestone rock outcrops jetting out of the ocean all over the place.  The water is so blue and the beaches are all white sand  and there is some really good snorkelling.   I left Port Barton on a dirt bike right after the Typhoon went through and the roads were all washed out and so deep in mud, i really can't believe we made it to the higwayi was rifding on the back of a big dirtbike with lots of power by the time i made it to the highway i was totally covered in mud and then hopped on a bus for 6 hours but i made it to Elnido and found Chad.  We are now staying at OGs pension house right on the beach and we have a super cheap room only 300 pesos a night!!!  Thats 6 bucks canadian if your wondering.  Chad said that the Typhoon was really insane here, their were massive waves and the water was going in to the windows of all the buildings and through the town and he thought that the roof was going to blow off of the hotel!!  BUt he survived oh ya and now were just chillaxin here until Thursday and then were taking an overnight boat to Coron were their is some really good wreck diving.  There is lots of stuff to do here we went on a hike today throught the jungle almost got lost many times we pretty much our own trail to this beach called Lapus Lapus.  The other day we went on a boat tour, went snorkelling around some islands.  Chad saw a tiger stingray very cool.  We had lunch on a secluded beach and checked out some really cool cave.  We also rented a motorbike and took a little tour to the Northern tip of Palawan the beach there was nice big waves, that were actually scary  when we ended up almost getting suckedout in the rip tide. We also went hiking on a big island just north of elnido yesterday.  The guides took us to this lagoon that actually looked like a big swamp. They were pointing out some tunnel ont he other side that goes into the ocean and CHad jokingly said lets go over there inside.  Next thing you know were up to waist deep mud in a mangrove swamp and there is  a baracuda swimming around me and jumping out of the water.   But hey it was fun after we waded around the whole lagoon in our barefeet, trying not get stuck in the mud. Other then that we are just enjoying the sunshine and swimming lots. We plan to go and check out the Big and Small Lagoonas in the next couple of days, this is what elnido is known for supposedly they are absolutely amazing, very beautiful.  Oh yes and the Filippinos tradition before christmas is to light off as many firecrackers as possible and every morning at 3:30 we are awoken by firecrackers and churchbells they all go to church from 4to6or9am  for the 9 days before christmas.  Wow talk about culture!!!  They even changed the power and electricity from 3pm to 3am to 6pm to 6am just for church.   I really hope we have a yummy turkey dinner in Coron, we will soon find out.  Merry Christmas everybody
