Greetings from Bethany, CT
We arrived at Uncle Steve and Aunt Marcia's house just a minute after they finished eating dinner. Grandpa Nate was over as well. Dinner was good, but Aunt Marcia's blueberry pie was to die for. We stayed over at their house for two nights and we thank you for your hospitality. Uncle Steve was very proud when he showed off his John Wayne shrine to me and it was quite impressive.
The next day, Jenn and I went into New Haven to the East Rock Park. The park has a monument for all its residents who served and died at war on top of a very large hill overlooking New Haven. We spent some time looking down on New Haven and all of the Yale buildings. Then we found and followed a trail leading down the hill. It came to a fork and we took the trail to the right. The trail led us to a chain link fence that looked like it was pushed over with the trial continuing on the other side. I told Jenn that I was going to continue with this trail and Jenn told me that the fence was there for a reason and that she was going back to the fork to take the other trail. It turns out that both trails led to the hill's cliffs, just on different sides.
We picked up Uncle Steve from his office and met Grandpa Nate for lunch at a Chinese restaurant. Afterwards, Grandpa Nate took us to the house he lived in after coming home from the serving in the military. It was a large house and he told us some funny stories that had once happened there.
Love Dave & Jenn
