As life here feels more and more like the regular routine, I find that I have less and less that I feel inclined to write about =)
Work pretty much keeps my butt kicked these days, which is not really a bad thing. I'm feeling really productive, and my first project should finish at the end of this year. We just had a ton of people in town from Austin and Dublin this week so I was super busy in the evenings with dinners and just hanging out, which was kind of nice. It actually feels kind of quiet now that they've all left this weekend.
The weather has been pretty beautiful lately. It's about 60 degrees and sunny, so it feels like a true Fall. I'm told that this is unseasonably warm for November, so I'm sure the cold is a matter of weeks (or maybe days) away. I'm actually kind of curious about it. I think it might be kind of cool to get ready for Christmas when it's cold and maybe snowing outside. I'm heading to Budapest next weekend to check out their Christmas market, which is supposed to be really nice. I'm also considering taking a day off the week after this one to go to Munich for a long weekend. Christmas/winter seem like a perfect time for Germany for some reason. And I just bought my winter coat this weekend. It's filled with down and it made me sweat in the store when I was trying it on, so I'm sure it will be perfect. Although, my sister just told me that she was shopping for fleece-lined jeans this weekend, which I had never known existed. So, I may still end up cold. But it will be interesting at least. And temporary.
Other than that, life is pretty normal. I do find that many of my habits have changed since coming here....
1 - I eat at home all the time now. I only ate out once this weekend, which is very different for me. I find that my cooking hasn't gotten any more creative though. I cook about the same 4 things every week. I guess I know what I like to eat =)
2 - I'm still eating massive portions of ham.
3 - I walk a lot more. If there's any question whether we should walk or drive, we walk.
4 - I'm spending very little money except for when I travel. It's nice having the extra cushion to not feel guilty about buying a plane ticket about once a month.
5 - I'm devouring books. I've always been a pretty healthy reader, but I'm reading about a book or 2 a week right now. This feels like luxury to me.
6 - I have more time to myself than I've ever had in my life. Some days I can find the contentment in this; some days it eludes me.
Oh, I almost forgot...my bosses told me on Friday that they're really happy with the work I've been doing here. And to say thank you, they're giving me another trip home next year!! So, now when I leave Austin after the holidays, I still get to come back home one more time before I move home next summer!! This was really happy news for me. I'm enjoying my time here and getting so much out of it, but getting to come home an extra time kind of makes it feel like I get more of the best of both =)

No flannel lined jeans for me. If it gets cold, I'll just wear long underwear or tights under my jeans.
How exciting you get to come home again this Spring! That is great news. You go girl! Glad you are enjoying all your books. I haven't been reading as much as I did this summer so I am antsy to get back into it again...it is a nice, relaxing activity. Love you!
