Much of the day's lesson dealt with comprehension skills. We asked the students about context clues, including the title, to help them predict the outcome of the story in advance
We closed the class by pitting the boys against the girls in a comprehension game about the story. The outcomes varied class to class. We discovered that this would be our final class today, as they would be taking exams on Thursday. Surprise! We were disappointed, but still plan on taking group pictures with our students on Thursday, one way or another.
Despite the hot and humid day, the afternoon was very relaxing for Ms. Long. She had her first facial with Wilma at a local salon. They used a jade board to scrape her face and head. It sounds painful, but it was wonderful! She may have been the first foreign client. The "bosses" wanted to take pictures with her after her session. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon! Thank you, Wilma!
After dinner, we walked back to the hotel. Unfortunately, a large truck spraying the streets was headed our way. We tried to take cover as best as we could, but we both got our feet a little wet. It was actually pretty funny! On the way back, we stopped at the market near our hotel. Mr. O pointed out the different flavors of chips he noticed the other day...blueberry, kiwi, hot and sour fish soup, etc. All very interesting! The evening was spent skyping with our JEI friends and finalizing our lessons for the high school tomorrow.
