TGIF! haha Actually, it still doesn't really feel like I'm in school yet. My first week of classes went pretty smoothly, and I have great feelings about my biology courses. The only downfall to my classes is that my marine biology final exam is 60% of my final grade and my invertebtrate biology final exam is 50% of my final grade. No pressure there :o0 But, I think both of my classes will be interesting enough to learn a lot without killing myslf studying, and we will have a long week before finals start to study (or cry :oP ).

Both my invertevrate and marine biology labs are pretty much all outside of the lab diong field work. We collect our on samples and learn lots of different experimental techniques. I can't wait!

My teacher for marine biology is really funny, also. He uses a mini-gun laser pointer in lecture, and the other day Nick asked where he got it and he said it's from when he was a terrorist...lol. And I have two white guys for my other class, I think they're British, but maybe Australian?

Well, I have also been getting up really early ever since we got here. I normally get up early anyways, but here it's pretty much 7 every day. You can't really avoid it with this heat. But I've also been running a lot with Liane and Renee, and I also went swimming between class the other day. Starting next week us girls are going to go to yoga on Monday nights and then do aerobics at a local gym, also. I can't wait. It feels so good to be on a workout routine again.

So the past two days were pretty great. On Wednesday after class, Liane and I took a bus to downtown Suva to drop off some postcards, and then we went to a little coffee shop that has American coffee...mmmm. After that we decided to walk back as opposed to taking a bus, and we went to the supermarket to check out the goods. Then yesterday I had no class, so I woke up a went running around 7, and then Mele (the daughter of our host mom) took most of us around the city to the good second hand shops and the flea market. I'm getting really good at bargaining around here, Mele says I'm better than her :o) Then last night after having homemade guacamole and shepherds pie for dinner, a group of us went to see "Domino" at the movie theatre. For a few hours there it felt like we were back in the states.

Well, I guess that is about it for now. I'm about to go play frisbee with Kai and Liane and then eat my Baikebi oranges for lunch ( green orange!).

Love!
