Well, here we are in downtown L.A., we've just had pie at Clifton's after walking up here from Union Station.
We arrived last night, expertly driven from San Simeon by myself ( on the way to San Simeon I avoided hitting a deer on the windey coast road from San Fran, also expertly. )

At San Simeon we saw Hearst Castle, & a thousand and eleventy-eight elephant seals. Both were amazing in completely different ways yet equally hard to tear ourselves away from. So, we got to Hollywood about 8pm & checked in, then headed straight out to find food. Walked down to Hollywood & Vine and back, along the way passing the Pantages theatre - OMG!!!! Rickie Lee playing in my head - then decided on Thai. It was great! The two guys at the table next to us were discussing various male leads and backing up their opinions with critique of recent roles, in really loud voices.
Repleted, we went home & sighed heavily several times to be in a comfy bed with a balcony overlooking Hollywood Blvd awaiting our persons in the morning. There is no bible in our room, just the Baghavad Gita.

This morning we went next door for our included brekky, then went exploring.....bought a pair of Converses in a vintage op shop for a tenner - gotta be happy with that!
Then we came home and sorted out washing and all that before going out again, on the subway to Union Station.
The train stations here are named after whatever intersection they're on - our closest is Hollywood & Western.
Union Station itself is a gorgeous art deco building....amazing light fittings, wooden booths and parquetry floors. Close by Union we found Olvera St, one of the oldest streets in LA and home to an old Mexican marketplace which is also an historic monument. Taco's and enchillada's for lunch....even better than Nicks! Not the gaucamole though....

After lunch more walking - down Broadway past  weird-arse bridal shops, wedding chapels, the jewellery district, theatres and other beautiful old buildings to Clifton's.

After the pie - banana cream & cherry (yes, 2 pieces) we checked out the Library before catching the subway home & heading to the laundromatt to do our washing & chat with other wallah's.
Now you are all up to date with EVERYTHING we've been up to......or are you?

Hugs, air-kisses darlings!!!

PS......pie or cake?
