We're here, and we can see Alcatraz from our hostel! We got a shuttle from the airport for the trip to Fort Mason - we felt too knackered to catch the BART and although $17 for me is alot of money, I spent it. This hostel is great so far and in an ideal location right on the waterfront, adjacent to a large park area where lots of dogs were being walked.
We've been for a brief reco mission; there's a path that runs along in front of the Hostel left takes you towards the Golden Gate Bridge via the marina and some beautiful old wharf wharehouses, right takes you to Fisherman's Wharf and all the Piers, including the one that the Alcatraz tours leave from. We went left and discovered the Mexican Museum and a Safeway, but can't tell stories now - just wanted to say hello - need sleep.......must sleep...... more tomoz peeps xx
